Prophetic Word – Change into second gear  – Adele

I had a vision and what I saw was a driver in a race car, and it was driving on a circuit-like track. All of a sudden, as it was speeding, there was a very quick and sharp bend in the track.

The instructor sitting next to the driver said to him, “Slow down and put the car into second gear to go around the bend.” So, I saw the driver doing this, and the driver was able to manoeuvre very smoothly in a controlled manner around that bend. Then I heard the instructor say again, “Now accelerate and go in full throttle so you can accelerate and change gears again to increase speed,” and the driver did so.

Now, for those of you who don’t know much about cars, when you go in a very low gear, it basically gives more power to the engine, but your speed is slower. When you go into higher gears, your speed increases, but you have less control.

Then I heard the Lord say this:

“Listen to My instructions. I know what bend you are approaching on your track. Do not follow your own logic. At times, you need to hit the brakes and shift gears so you can move with more control around bends. Other times, you need to speed up and gain momentum to make up for the times you have to slow down.

Listen to My cues. Your instincts will tell you that you need to maintain speed or speed up to not lose position, but this at times will be counterproductive.

Go slow when I say to go slow; increase your momentum when I say to do so. Remain in tune to My voice and follow My instructions.

Trust Me—I will keep you on track. It is just you and Me. Do not focus on what other drivers are doing. How you drive your vehicle is all that matters.

Stay focused. Finish your race.” 

The impression that I got with this prophetic word is that some of you are in a process where God is changing things for you in this season. It might be a few different sharp bends that the Lord is taking you on now, using them as a metaphor for this life’s track—maybe with a business, ministry, career, family life, or something else.

Your tendency might be to want to keep up because you might feel like time is short or that you might miss it, or things like that. But if you’re feeling that nudging from the Holy Spirit to slow down, it’s probably because the Lord wants you more focused so that you can actually go through this bend in a much more controlled manner.

The Lord just wants to encourage you to not lose heart because He knows when you can increase momentum again to make up for that lost time. So just tune in, follow as the Lord leads, and remain in His flow.

My beautiful God, Lord, we come in the name of Jesus, and we just thank You so much, Lord, for how You instruct us, Lord, on this life journey. I pray, Father, in the name of Jesus, for any brother or sister who might find themselves in this situation, where they might feel like they need to increase momentum when You say to slow down. I pray that You will give them that peace, Lord, and that this word will confirm for them that they need to just wait on You and slow down, knowing that You will make up for the time they think they might be losing. In Jesus’s most holy and powerful name, Amen.
