I heard Him say –

“Some have forgotten to seek My heart before they take a step. They are trying to fit My will into a little box that makes sense to their understanding. But what I have for them, a little box cannot contain.

 

I’ve gone before them and carved out roads to carry them into the new day. But they are letting unfamiliar territory and the weight they shoulder discourage them from leaning into faith and taking the next steps with Me.

 

They see only the rough terrain ahead, and coupled with the weariness that lingers from the last season, they’ve seemingly lost their appetite for adventure.

 

What I have in store they cannot yet grasp; I have held back the whole picture from them as there are things they are carrying that need to be laid down to make room, and if they knew what was to come in clarity, they would not require the faith I desire to grow in them to step forward. So, I withhold the revelation for just a little while. Their perspective will shift as they reposition, and what is hidden will be made clear.

 

There are some with hurts, confusion and weary walks that need to be acknowledged for what they entailed and the toll they took but then surrendered to my keeping so in return; I can reveal the fullness of My heart for them. I desire to carry the weight. It’s not meant for their hands and shoulders to bear.

 

They must learn that even the seasons of stripping back are purposed for abundant resurgence.

 

My loves, don’t you trust Me yet?

 

Look back and see My faithfulness, lean in, and taste its fruit.

 

Shake off the weary of yesterday and stir up that curiosity for what’s ahead.

I’m calling you out onto the highways and byways with Me.

This season, we will cover much ground together – it’s a year of taking territory and building together, but I need your eyes fixed on Mine, your heart geared in anticipation, not dread.

 

Your spirit revived, youthful and seated in wonder and awe – I’m breathing on your creativity to carry the expression of Me and My heart to the nations.

 

My Loves, pause a moment – take stock. Give Me the heaviness of what you carry and lean back into My heart. This year, we will adventure together. But you need to travel light! “

 

Friend, as we wrap up the year, let’s take a moment to pause and breathe. There’s something powerful about looking back—not to get stuck in the past, but to reflect, learn, and let God bring closure to what we’ve walked through. Life can be messy, right? There’ve been highs and deep lows, victories and struggles and for some, there are many things that feel unresolved, but through it all, one thing has been constant: God’s faithfulness.

 

Ecclesiastes 3:1 says, “There’s a time for everything and a season for every activity under the heavens.” Every season—even the hard ones—has something to teach us. Maybe this year stretched you. Perhaps it broke some things in you. But could it be that it also grew some things in you that you didn’t even realise were there? Reflection is about letting God reveal how He’s been working, even in the wilderness.

 

Look back, but don’t get stuck there! God doesn’t want you stuck. Isaiah 43:18-19, He says, “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing!”  Friend, God’s already ahead of you, preparing something new. He invites you to release the weight of yesterday—old mistakes, disappointments, or even just things that no longer fit where He’s taking you.

 

This is truth to hold: His mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23). That means every day, every season, we have a fresh start. We don’t need to have it all figured out —it’s about trusting that God does.

 

Proverbs 3:5- 6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” We all have moments where we honestly look at our lives and think, “God, what are You doing???” In this space, it’s easy to let panic grab hold and cause you to close your hands around the details to control an outcome or bend the plans at play to your own will. We all want certainty and security to some degree, and it’s hard to trust when you don’t see the next step. Still, those are the moments where we choose faith over fear, trusting that He’s making a way, even when we can’t see it and in doing so the capacity that we hold for bold faith increases.

 

Life with Jesus is never boring. It’s wild and filled with purpose, Trust, and His presence. He came so that we may have life and have it to the full.” (John 10:10). Following Him means stepping into a life of intention, where every day holds meaning and purpose, even when the road feels unpredictable. As His children we “live by faith, not by sight.” ( 2 Corinthians 5:7) It’s not always easy, but as we trust in the Lord with all our heart, He will make our paths straight (Proverbs 3:5-6). Even when we can’t see the whole picture, God is always faithful to guide us.

 

Yes, there will be challenges. But even when we stumble and struggle, God holds us up (Psalm 37:23-24). No matter how deep the waters or how hot the fire, He’s right there with us. (Isaiah 43:2)

 

Take heart, friend! Your tomorrow is written by the One who knows your story and the way to go that’s best for you. He walks beside you and equips you to thrive in all circumstances. You were made for this!!

 

Friend, this is your reminder not to carry last year’s baggage into this year or let the weight of yesterday stop you from stepping into what God has for you. He has already gone before you. He’s calling you to step forward boldly.

 

“Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead.” (Philippians 3:13-14)

 

Friend, God’s not done with you yet. He’s just getting started!!
