Have you ever found yourself staring at the hand life has dealt you, the edges of your cards worn, some bent in ways you don’t even remember? You turn them over in your palm, searching for a strategy, but all you see is an impossible play. No clear path forward, no obvious winning move—just the slow, uncertain rhythm of each round. You make a choice, hoping the next draw brings something better. Yet, the days keep slipping through your fingers. You feel the weight of time passing, but progress? That seems elusive. You long for clarity and momentum, but instead, you sit at this table, waiting—for the cards to change, for the game to shift, for that moment when it all makes sense. If this is you, friend, let me remind you: God is never without purpose or strategy (Ephesians 2:10). He knows exactly what He is doing when He positions and repositions you. Maybe you find yourself in unfamiliar territory – yet He is the same God who called Abraham to step into the unknown and trust His voice (Genesis 12:1). Maybe you feel stuck in a season of barrenness – yet He is the God who makes streams flow in the desert and brings new life where hope seems lost (Isaiah 43:19). Maybe your plans have fallen apart, leaving you in the wreckage of what you thought was certain – yet He is the God who orders your steps, even when the path ahead feels unclear (Proverbs 16:9). He has not lost sight of you. And He never will. Exodus 33:21-22 declares His faithfulness: “And the LORD said, ‘Here is a place by Me, and you shall stand on the rock. So it shall be, while My glory passes by, that I will put you in the cleft of the rock and cover you with My hand while I pass by.’” (NKJV) True repositioning always draws us closer to God. Sometimes, it feels like displacement. Like uncertainty. Like a wilderness season. But in His hands, every shift and redirection invites deeper intimacy. Romans 8:28 reassures us: “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” But let’s be honest – repositioning rarely feels like purpose when we’re in the thick of it. More often, it feels like rejection. Like betrayal. Like abandonment. We see closed doors, unexpected endings, and unravelling plans, and we wonder how any of it could possibly be for our good. But God—who wastes nothing – takes even the pain, the disappointments, the moments we never saw coming and weaves them into something greater. What we call rejection, He calls redirection. What we see as loss, He sees as movement. And one day, we will look back and realise He never removed us to harm us. He was always repositioning us to serve His greater purpose. He is not just moving you; He is covering you, drawing you closer, positioning you in the cleft of His presence. So maybe today, you’re looking down at the cards in your hand, wondering how you ended up here. The hand you’ve been dealt feels unfair, impossible even, nothing to build on, nothing to work with. You’ve played round after round, hoping for a shift, but the waiting feels long, and clarity still hasn’t come. And deep down, there’s that quiet ache that threatens your hope. Friend, let me remind you—God has not lost sight of you. He is not watching from a distance. He’s the One holding the deck, the One who knows exactly how to shuffle the cards just right. What feels like uncertainty to you is not uncertainty to Him. What looks like loss is not the end of the story. He has done this before. He called Abraham into the unknown and led him step by step. If this season feels heavy, I won’t tell you to brush past the weight of it. But I will tell you this – God knows exactly what He’s doing. And when the time is right, when you least expect it, He will place the final card on the table. And you will see it for what it truly is – His hand was never working against you. He was setting you up for something greater than you could have imagined. Ephesians 3:20 reminds us: “Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us.” God’s plans far exceed our limited perspective. Even in seasons of uncertainty – when things feel like they’re falling apart rather than falling into place – He is working behind the scenes, preparing something greater than we could ever anticipate. What may seem like loss now is often the setup for a blessing beyond what we could have asked for or even dreamed of. Trust that He is still writing your story. He is faithful to bring it to a beautiful, redemptive completion. Your story is not over, and hope is not lost. Hold onto this truth: What feels like a broken hand right now may just be the setup for something far greater than you imagined. God is at work. And He is always faithful to finish what He started. He brought life to barren places when there was no sign of hope.
He gently reordered the steps of those who thought everything had fallen apart.
And He is doing the same for you.
This Is Causing Your Delay
This might be a confirmational word for someone. If you have been asking the Lord why you seem to not move forward and why you seem to be delaying and being stuck. It might be because you are resisting what God has already shown you and asked you to do without fully...
