Adele Grobler – March – 2025 

Have you felt like you have been trying to do things the way that others have, whether it be with ministry, business, family life—whatever that might be? Have you found yourself looking at others who are successful in those areas, in how they’re doing it, and have you tried to replicate that, only to find yourself not getting similar results as those who have been successful in doing those certain principles?

As I was spending time with Jesus today, the Lord showed me a vision of someone running in their lane, and next to them were other lanes with people running on their own lanes. But these lanes looked different. Some of these lanes had different obstacles in them—some had rocky roads, some had shrubs and rocks in the middle, and some had water and mud. The different pathways these people were running on were not the same as this person’s.

What I saw was this person then jumped from their lane to these other people’s lanes. These other people were way ahead of them, and this person was trying to run in that lane to get the same results or the same quickness as the person in that lane who was ahead of them.

Then I heard the Holy Spirit speak Ecclesiastes 9:11.

“I have seen something else under the sun:
The race is not to the swift
or the battle to the strong,
nor does food come to the wise
or wealth to the brilliant
or favor to the learned;
but time and chance happen to them all.”

The Lord reminded me of David when he was trying to put on Saul’s armor, but it didn’t fit him. He had to take it off and just grab his sling and stones when he went to face Goliath.

The Lord wants to encourage you today: Stay in your own lane. Don’t try to mimic what others did to get their success. You have your own road that you are running with the Lord. Just be you, follow Him, and you will get where you need to be. It might not be at the speed of others, and it might not look the same as how others have done it, but the Lord has you exactly where you need to be.

Being you is enough. Just be clay in the Potter’s hand so that He can mold you, shape you, and get you where you need to be.

So, my beautiful God, Lord, I come in the name of Jesus, and I thank You for this word. I pray, my Lord, that this word will reach whoever needs to hear it today. I pray, my God, that You would give whoever this word is for strength in their heart and courage in their heart, to know that they are enough, Lord. That You are the Potter and they are the clay.

They don’t need to go the same way as others to have the same results or success, but the pathway and journey You’ve chosen for them is unique to them. Help them to embrace that journey, to stop looking at other people’s lanes, to stop competing or desiring where others are, and help them to focus on the road in front of them, because You will get them where they need to be.

In Jesus’ most holy and powerful name.
