As I was reading Hebrews 12:1–2, the Holy Spirit began speaking to me about what He is doing in the body of Christ. This connects with the word I recently released about 2026. I heard the Lord say, “Throw it off.” As I asked what He meant, He began to unpack from these verses what He is doing in many of you.
Hebrews 12:1–2 (NIV) says:
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
One of the main things the Lord highlighted is that we truly are surrounded by a cloud of witnesses. In the word I released about 2026, He emphasized personal responsibility. We are the light in a dark world, and people are watching how we live—how we speak, how we walk, how we think, and how we conduct ourselves. It is difficult to hide who we truly are, because our thoughts and actions reveal our hearts.
God is calling us to be mature sons and daughters who radiate His light. The world needs that light now more than ever. Jesus is the answer, and He releases that answer through us. We are His ambassadors in the earth. Because of this, the Lord is drawing our attention to how we represent Him. Do our words and deeds align with our confession of faith? Are we walking out what we say we believe?
The Lord is encouraging us to throw off everything that hinders us, including any sin that entangles us. Not all hindrances are bad things—some are patterns, habits, mindsets, and ways of doing life that were useful in past seasons but are no longer conducive for what God is doing now. These things can trip us up and keep us from walking in the new paths He has prepared.
He is also reminding us to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, because He is the author and perfecter of our faith. As Jesus endured the cross for the joy set before Him, we too are called to endure with joy, knowing that we are His sons and daughters and that eternity with Him awaits us. His joy is our strength—even in hardship.
Many of God’s people are currently going through an “unraveling” process. If you have felt confused or unsettled, it may be because the Lord is removing what has hindered you from walking in spiritual maturity and becoming a radiant light. As you sit with Him, ask what patterns, habits, mindsets, or ways of living no longer belong in this new season—and what He wants you to now embrace.
I heard the Lord say, “Throw it off, and I will give you what will not hinder you.” He desires to replace what trips you up with what will strengthen and establish you. This transformation begins in the mind. God is not always changing our circumstances, but He is changing us—forming us into steady, grounded sons and daughters who walk in faith regardless of what is happening around us.
Do not delay when the Lord highlights areas that need to be released. He wants you to move unhindered in this next season. Sometimes deliverance is instant, but often it is a relational process where we walk closely with Him and grow in maturity. Through this, He shapes a stronger and freer version of you.
If you have felt an unraveling, know that the Lord is at work. Sit with Him, ask Him what needs to be released, and allow Him to show you what must change.
Prayer
My beautiful God, I thank You for Your great love for us and for trusting us to be Your ambassadors in the earth. Thank You for entrusting us with Your presence and Your light. Help us to throw off every mindset, pattern, habit, and way of living that no longer belongs in this new season. Continue Your work in us, renewing us day by day. Reveal what has hindered us and show us how to move forward unhindered with You. In Jesus’ most holy and powerful name, Amen.
Be Blessed,
