About Michael Foy

“I was a frustrated physio clinician living in western Canada and entering my 5th year in general private-practice physiotherapy. I had already done extensive post-graduate study in manual therapy assessment and treatment as well as biomechanics and complex care rehab. Despite this additional learning on top of my degree I near constantly felt underwhelmed by what I could offer my clients coming to my clinic.

One day, while treating a client’s spine and gaining small results, I stopped mobilising and simply asked them to breathe as a rest. The area I was working on melted away under my hands! I was struck with awe and excitement that there really was a world of opportunity to re-learn the NATURE of the body and how it works and to learn to work WITH IT rather than forcing it to my will.

My day came to its crescendo when I prayed to God, “Please teach me and help me to learn more about Your amazing creation, the human body, and how to help and ease it”. He was faithful and from that day on I have not stopped gaining new understanding to this very old problem. Because of this, I have also gained a deep respect and sense of responsibility to lay hands on people when they are often at their most vulnerable, and this is a true honor as a clinician and a child of God.

Since then I have shared and taught thousands of hurting people and their families about the art and science of neuro-muscular training (or “re-training” since a lot of it requires unlearning poor habits while also learning new healthier ones). I receive no greater satisfaction than when I hear a client declare that they have mastered a skill, improved their function or gained an understanding of the applications of this approach. This is because it is meant to benefit them now but also restore confidence that this approach can help them again and again in the future to maintain their health.

My desire is to continue to live a life of Bold Existence towards God and towards the people He allows me to be a part of. The greatest gift God has given me, beyond His beautiful love, forgiveness and acceptance as a grafted son, has been the ability to help people reset their minds and refresh their bodies to grow in health and resilience. The healing of our bodies and the mindset needed for this truly touches on the miracle of His creation and our intended stewardship of it. Hope we meet and get to share some beautiful insights into reconnecting your body to its purpose “
