Let Me Tell You ‘Bout My Jesus

1 Peter 2:9

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.

Hi there – have a few minutes? 😍

Let me tell you ’bout my Jesus!

First off…. here are my reasons I’m not panicking about what is happening in the world right now.

1/ Jesus.

These two scripture verses come to mind when I further reflect on this… where do you find yourself focusing these days?

And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among people by which we must be saved” ~Acts 4:12

“At the name of Jesus every knee should bow. ~ Philippians 2:10

On April 16, 2021, 19 year old Anne Wilson released her brand new single “My Jesus” after experiencing a family tragedy and shares of growing in her faith and ability to hear from Jesus to comfort her and strengthen her in that season and beyond.  🎶 The first time I heard this song I was brought to tears and felt drawn to the lyrics and would find myself singing them repeatedly with a renewed hope to share who Jesus is to me and what He has done for me personally to those who are hurting and broken around me. I believe that this season we are all in at the moment finds each of us around the globe feeling like no one is exempt from the darkness that is creeping into every nation, continent, and age group.

Can you relate? Have you felt weary? Are struggling to find hope enough for today, let alone tomorrow?

You are not alone. No matter where you are reading this little blog post, know that you are seen and known by the One True God and King. When we surrender our lives to Jesus, He makes us a promise in Deuteronomy 31:6  “Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.”  Peter also encourages us in 1 Peter 5:7 to ‘cast all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you.”

Brothers and sisters, we are not created to have to walk this journey alone. Jesus can relate to all the emotions we find ourselves navigating… but we know that He intentionally spent time alone with the Father to be strengthened and encouraged and refreshed – I believe He was modelling for us to do the same. Are you spending quiet time every day in His Word and in Worship and in reverence and awe of who He is and what He has and is continuing to do for us?

☕️About 15 years ago, the Lord convicted me to do just that. I sat down and put into my day planner my appointed coffee time with Jesus right there and then. I bought a new journal, found my favourite mug and would whip up a little chai latte and sit quietly with Him. This was the first time I had ever chosen to set aside time with Him – the One who is the giver of life, the author and finisher of our faith, the One who gives us our daily bread and forgives us all our trespasses. What a JOY and an HONOUR to get to sit in His presence and just enjoy time with Him. What surprised me was that I found that HE cherished this time with me as well – how cool is that?! I would find myself lingering longer and feeling such a sense of peace and refreshment and focus after these coffee chats that I found myself looking forward to these little blocks of time well in advance of when the next one was ‘scheduled’.  I cannot encourage enough to do just this – go ahead and find your day planner, or your phone or your calendar and no matter how full it might look – find a regular spot to schedule coffee time with Jesus. You’ll be grateful you did as I’m sure you’ll find yourself feeling closer to God, closer to understanding who God is and who He says you are. The more you understand your identity as a son and daughter of Father God – the more you will find you can do all things through Christ who gives you the strength! (Philippians 4:13) 💪🏼🛡

So as a lyrics girl – I feel to share with you the lyrics and encourage you to have a listen – be encouraged and of good cheer! God is for you – and if He is for you who can be against you?! ❤️Rest easy in the arms of Jesus and be blessed listening to these powerful lyrics…

Are you past the point of weary?

Is your burden weighin’ heavy?

Is it all too much to carry?

Let me tell you ’bout my Jesus

Do you feel that empty feeling?

‘Cause shame’s done all its stealin’

And you’re desperate for some healin’

Let me tell you ’bout my Jesus

He makes a way where there ain’t no way

Rises up from an empty grave

Ain’t no sinner that He can’t save

Let me tell you ’bout my Jesus

His love is strong and His grace is free

And the good news is I know that He

Can do for you what He’s done for me

Let me tell you ’bout my Jesus

And let my Jesus change your life

Hallelujah

Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Amen

Amen

Who can wipe away the tears

From broken dreams and wasted years

And tell the past to disappear? Oh

Let me tell you ’bout my Jesus

And all the wrong turns that you would

Go and undo if you could

Who can work it all for your good

Let me tell you about my Jesus

A few scriptures to finish off today’s message from me… take a deep breath and be reminded the Holy Spirit is that close to you right now and breathing hope and encouragement deep into your spirit to keep going good and faithful one.

John 15:15 “No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.”

1 John 4:4 “Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.”

Romans 12:2 “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”

❤️Be blessed precious ones.
